Measurements needed:

Note: Keep measuring tape tight and horizontal to the floor It is often helpful to have a second person helping to ensure that measurements are accurate. Also, it is a good idea to take measurements twice to ensure accuracy. Ensure that measurements are taken with a taut tape measure, corsets are supposed to be form fitting, so the closest measurements are the best.

For measurements to/from the hip, it is a good idea to place a ribbon or belt around the waist and use the center of it as the end of measurements.

Horizontal measurements

  1. Bust. (Around body, across breasts)
    1. Front bust (at bust line from side to side across front)
    2. Back bust (at bust line from side to side across back)
    3. Compressed bust (use an arm to compress breasts to desired shape and measure around bust)
  2. Bust breadth (bust point [nipple]  to bust point)
  3. Under-bust or ribs (bra line)
  4. Waist (if you have difficulty determining where your waist is, bend sideways, the crease is the waist line)
    1. Front waist (at waist from side to side across front)
    2. Back waist (at waist from side to side across back)
  5. Abdomen (three inches below waist)
  6. Hips (widest part of hips; seven to nine inches below waist)
    1. Front hips (at hips from side to side across front)
    2. Back hips (at hips from side to side across back)

Vertical measurements

  1. Bust peak (Waist to highest point desired over breasts

Note: Use a hand to compress breasts to desired shape and measure highest point from arm to waist.

  1. Under bust to waist (bra line to belt center form)
  2. Tummy (center form, waist to lowest extent desired)

Note: if tummy control is desired, use a hand to compress tummy to desired shape. Measure distance from waist to lowest point with the measuring tape under the hand.

  1. Side (armpit to waist)
  2. Back length (first vertebrae to waist)
  3. Bust Depth (from top of the breast to bottom of breast passing over the nipple).
  4. Waist to top of thigh (vertical measurement taken while sitting).

There are a lot of measurements, but all are needed for an accurate fit. For some designs additional measurements might be needed. I will notify you if they are. For under bust corsets the bust peak measurement is not needed.

You may enter measurements here once they are taken.

Final note: HAYB-Corsets is not responsible for improper fit due to faulty measurements. Please insure that measurements are taken accurately and without ease.
